In this short, but intensive week-long program, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of novel writing. We will look at J.K. Rowling’s imaginative and dynamic world-building and Lois Lowry’s thought-provoking characters to see what makes a seedling of an idea grow into a full-fledged novel. The program will be a mix of reading comprehension and writing as students will grow their analytical reading comprehension skills while getting the chance to let their imagination bloom. By the end of the week, students will have the opportunity to showcase the chapter they have written, which could serve as the launchpad for a larger book project.
