Ms. Laura began her career in 1997 as a teacher at Pinewood School in Los Altos, where she taught Language Arts for 12 years. During that time, she developed her own creative writing, poetry, spelling, and reading comprehension programs for enrichment workshops. Many of Ms. Laura‘ s students have gone on to excel in high school Advanced Placement English courses, complete college application essays with ease, and write papers confidently and ahead of deadlines in college.
Mr. David began his debate journey as a student, earning numerous national awards and recognition. As Assistant Director of Debate, he helped lead Concordia University Irvine to a 1st place finish at the 2015 NPDA National Championship Tournament. David has also directed highly successful speech and debate programs at Menlo School, Oxford Academy, and Bishop O’Dowd High School, where his students consistently excelled both academically and competitively. David holds a BA and MA in Communication Studies.
Dr. Michelle has been tutoring student in English and creative writing for over 10 years. Her teaching career began when she founded an after school creative writing program. She has taught at local tutoring centers in both online and in-person settings. She also works as a freelance editor. Dr. Michelle has a Ph.D. in sociology from U.C. Berkeley and an M.A. from the University of Chicago.
Grace graduated a year early with a B.A. with Honors in English literature from Stanford University. Her diverse teaching background spans SAT/ACT reading and writing preparation, college admissions mentorship for high school students, and foundational literacy tutoring for elementary students. On campus, she was extensively involved in editorial and publishing work.
Ms. Bianca is an experienced educator with a background in English, Social Studies, public speaking, and competitive debate. She currently teaches Speech and Debate, as well as 5th and 6th grade Social Studies, at a private school where she also leads mock trials and coaches students for both in-class and tournament competitions. With a degree in English, Bianca brings creativity, energy, and a student-centered approach to every lesson. She is passionate about helping young speakers build confidence, express themselves clearly, and enjoy the learning process.
Ms.Chen graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. She holds a master's degree in Secondary Education and a California teaching credential. Ms. Chen is a registered AP Chinese teacher and exam reader with the College Board. She currently teaches at a top-rated public high school in the Bay Area where she developed curriculum for all levels of Mandarin courses. With more than ten years of experience and outstanding teaching results, Ms.Chen has been invited to speak at various foreign language teaching conferences to share her teaching experience. Ms.Chen is highly skilled in lesson planning, educational technology, and instructional design. She has taught AP Chinese since 2014 and guided hundreds of students to pass the exam with high marks.
Vincent is the #1 ranked Congressional debater in California and #5 in America. On the teaching side, he founded his nonprofit Inspire, and coached his first student to becoming a National Finalist. Vincent is an incoming undergraduate at Santa Clara University.
